Quick recovery
Check Screen Time access
If Chronance shows a permission warning, tap Open Settings, restore Screen Time access, then return to Chronance.
Confirm your selected apps
Open the app picker and make sure at least one app or category is selected. Save the selection, then return to Chronance and tap Protect these apps.
Protect them again
If your apps are currently open, use Chronance's primary action to restore protection. The status should return to Protected.
Your weekly plan
Put distracting apps into up to three groups and give each group its own weekly allowance. Those apps stay paused until you choose a 3, 5, or 15 minute window, wait through the quiet pause, and confirm that you want to spend it.
The window is reserved when the apps open. Pause early to keep unused whole minutes; otherwise the full reservation is spent at expiry. Chronance counts open access by started minute and restores protection automatically. Every Monday, each hourglass refills.
Common questions
Why is an app still blocked?
Check that the correct app group has time left and an active window. A returned one- or two-minute remainder can be used once. If that group reaches zero, its apps stay protected until Monday.
Why can't I change an allowance?
A group's weekly allowance becomes fixed after that hourglass is first used. You can change its selected apps while everything is paused, and choose a new allowance after Monday's refill.
Does Chronance see which apps I chose?
The readable app list and raw Screen Time activity stay on your iPhone. Optional cloud sync stores group settings, the number of Screen Time selections, and aggregate weekly state, not the app names.
Do I need an account?
No. The Screen Time plan is local-first. An account is optional and adds private cloud sync for your aggregate weekly state.
Why is simulator behavior limited?
Apple's real app selection, shielding, and background expiry require a signed build on a physical iPhone. The simulator is for interface and build testing.
Delete your account
In Chronance, open settings, open your account, and choose Delete account. Confirming permanently removes the cloud account and its synced records.
Account deletion does not silently change the active device-owned Screen Time plan. End that plan or revoke Chronance's Screen Time access separately if you want protection to stop immediately.
